Delivery Risk Lead – Hinkley Point C (Hybrid)
£500 – £700 per day | Hybrid (UK-wide with HPC site presence as required)
About the Project
EDF is delivering Hinkley Point C (HPC) — the UK's largest infrastructure project and first new nuclear power station in over 20 years. This multi-billion-pound, nationally significant programme will provide safe, low-carbon energy to millions of homes for generations to come.
As part of this world-class project, we are seeking an experienced Delivery Risk Lead to join the HPC PMO. This is a unique opportunity to influence risk management on one of the most complex engineering programmes in Europe.
The Role
As Delivery Risk Lead, you will:
* Implement and oversee the Delivery Risk Management Framework across HPC.
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10–12 risk specialists, ensuring consistent application of risk processes.
* Work with Directors and Project Managers to identify, assess, mitigate and report risks across programmes, areas, and functions.
* Align delivery risks with portfolio risks, providing board-level visibility and ensuring enterprise-wide assurance.
* Deliver accurate, data-led reporting using ARM (Active Risk Manager) and Power BI, enabling senior stakeholders to make informed decisions.
* Represent the risk function at internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with HPC governance and nuclear regulatory standards.
* Collaborate closely with PMO, Programme Directors, and Functional Leaders to safeguard critical project milestones and protect the HPC commercial operation date.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
* Proven experience in risk management, project controls or assurance within highly regulated, complex industries (nuclear, energy, utilities, defence, aerospace, or infrastructure).
* Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, governance, and reporting.
* Experience using ARM, Power BI, and project controls methodologies.
* Leadership experience — proven ability to manage and develop teams.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
