Role Profile
This role of the Team Leader will involve providing support to the Business Unit Manager and wider Operational team. This role will supervise, guide and motivate their team members on a daily basis to work together and ensure they deliver on production targets and drive quality, promoting a 'One Team' Culture across the Site.
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
* Promote a positive, participative, and proactive culture throughout the area that heavily focuses on safety of personnel and quality of products
* To ensure safe working practices within the team
* Ensure all relevant PPE is worn at all times; challenge any incorrect behaviour
* Ensure all company policies are always communicated and adhered to
* Undertake the weekly EHS self-assessment for the cells within the dedicated area
* Ensure compliance to the safety concern reporting KPI's
* Production responsibilities as per their area of expertise and the customer schedule, overseeing the day-to-day operation of their work/product area.
* Report out daily efficiency and part count numbers at the Daily Operations Meeting.
* Ensure all team members are booked on requisite job and are working to the targeted efficiencies/hours. Challenge all delinquencies to the plan and pro-actively support improvements where required.
* Review operator hours and challenge concerns accordingly.
* Assist the team to implement root cause analysis on non-conforming product.
* Participate in daily QC Clinics (as and when needed)
* Ensure all measuring equipment is within calibration cycle
* Lead and complete 5 WHY investigations and drive actions through to completion
* Supporting training and development of team members.
* Ensure attendance of team members at all mandatory training events.
* Recognise skill gaps and actively plan required training.
* Involvement in team meetings to ensure factory plan is adhered to.
* To drive a 6S culture within the team whereby everyone assumes responsibility for their area and/or product.
* TPM / Operator asset care checks in area.
* Identify and drive 6S area compliance including regular audits. Drive improvement actions through to completion.
* To assist in the communication of team briefs and other announcements.
* Issue and display the daily metrics in preparation for the Working Team Leader to present during the Gemba Walk.
* Hold daily briefings with direct team
* Being first point of contact for Team Members and Managers in dealing with section complaints and any outstanding issues.
* Recognising high performance and reward accomplishments.
* Assuming responsibility for the Business Unit Manager in their absence
* To undertake other duties that fall within the skills of the individual that may be required from time to time.
