Qualified Social Worker - Children in Care
Location: West Yorkshire
Pay rate: £35 per hour
We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join our dedicated Children in Care team in West Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our client's social work team, supported by an experienced team manager. Our client fosters a strong and positive culture within this local authority, emphasizing regular supervision and group reflective practice.
As a member of the Children in Care team, you will work in a busy, supportive environment assessing and working with children and families, intervening early to provide necessary support. Your role will involve establishing safe environments, assessing risks, protecting children, supporting parents, and building relationships with family members.
In line with social care legislation and local government standards, you will deliver person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional expertise, you will make assessments and decisions regarding appropriate interventions, establishing and maintaining relationships with service users and other agencies to meet needs. Your commitment will help ensure positive, sustainable outcomes for children, striving for excellence in all interventions.
Ideal Candidate:
* Registered with Social Work England
* Experience working with children and vulnerable groups
* Knowledge of Court, Children in Need, and Child Protection procedures
* Experience supporting CIN and Child Protection planning, pre-proceedings, and court processes
* Understanding of factors impacting children, including abuse and neglect
* Proficiency in Child & Family Assessments with effective analysis and planning
* Ability to undertake direct work with children and families
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach
* Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and issues
* Continuous improvement mindset for best outcomes
* Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
* Strong relationship-building skills with children and families
* Experience working in multi-disciplinary, interagency settings
* Minimum 2 years qualified experience
