Base location: Petersfield, Aldershot, Basingstoke, Portsmouth. This role is mobile and predominantly field based, and we require your base 'home' location to be within 30 minutes commuting distance of our Depots listed above.
Salary: £29,504 - £34,757 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.
Working pattern: Permanent | Full Time
We are looking for an Arborist/Tree-cutter to join our busy team. You will work as part of a cyclical tree cutting programme to manage trees and vegetation near our distribution network. Safety is at the forefront of all activities as you evaluate, prepare and carry out tree cutting works on a variety of sites. We invest to keep the network in good condition to minimise the risk of power cuts and to ensure public safety. Trees may be cut or trimmed back during high winds and storms to keep the lights on. We also install the latest technologies and carry out regular maintenance to keep trees and vegetation away from our overhead lines and equipment.

Responsibilities
* Carry out tree cutting works on a variety of sites as part of a cyclical programme, with safety at the forefront of all activities.
* Evaluate, prepare and perform tree cutting and vegetation management near distribution network equipment.
* Work with a highly skilled team to ensure vegetation is kept away from overhead lines and equipment.
* Adapt to changing business and project priorities; may require occasional away-from-home work.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in tree cutting, forestry or arboriculture.
* Relevant NPTC certificate units for the use of chainsaws, and a qualification or certificates including NPTC UA.
* Enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
* Experience of working with power lines; climbing experience is highly advantageous.
* A high regard for safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
Travel is required and candidates must hold a current driving licence.
