About Us: Set in the picturesque Somerset countryside, our 2 AA Rosette winning Railway Inn Cider House and Restaurant, is looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our growing kitchen team. With the recent investment into our new outdoor kitchen, it's set to be a fantastic, busy summer season ahead The team is proud to deliver high quality, freshly cooked food, sourcing locally wherever possible, and alongside our premium drinks range, setting the standard for premium dining in the local area. The Railway Inn offers everything from delicious fine-dining options, to mouth-watering dishes freshly cooked on our bespoke charcoal grills. Our service and offering is attentive and well presented, just as we believe a pub at the heart of its community should be. The role is full time and will involve varying shift patterns so flexibility is a must. What will I be doing? As a business we are constantly investing in The Railway Inn to ensure the highest quality experience for our customers and teams. As a Senior Sous Chef at The Railway Inn, not only will you be involved in producing high quality food, you will be part of The Railways' many exciting events. As a Senior Sous Chef you will: Assist the Head Chef in the day to day running of the kitchen Help to deliver training and development of our junior and apprentice chefs Have creative input with menus, dishes & events etc. Maintain the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness and health & safety expectations Consistently deliver exceptional quality food Be responsible for leading the team to the highest standard in the absence of the Head Chef as required Have at least 5 years experience working in a fresh-food environment, preferably to an AA Rosette standard Have a positive, 'can do' attitude A full UK driving license- due to our rural location, the candidate must be able to drive What are the perks? 4-day rotational working week (closed Mondays & Tuesdays, except in school holidays) A great benefits package, including 20% discount at The Railway Inn and our on-site cider shop Gratuities We are looking for someone with creativity and flair, with a passion for delivering high quality food, who is looking to broaden their horizons within our esteemed organisation.
