Shifts: Days and Waking Nights (flexible shift patterns available)
About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and resilient Support Workers to join our team within a secure unit for young people aged 10-18 in Peterborough. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require structured support, guidance, and positive role models.
You will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment while promoting the welfare and development of the young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities
Build positive, professional relationships with young people
Actively engage and interact with young people throughout your shift
Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and life-skills activities
Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all young people at all times
Maintain awareness of safeguarding procedures and follow security protocols
Accurately record incidents, observations, and daily reports
Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teamWhat We're Looking For
Experience working with young people (residential, secure, youth work, SEN, or similar settings desirable)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Flexible and reliable approach to shift work (days and waking nights)
