An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Property Repairs Team Leader to join a local authority on a 3-month contract, leading the administrative and operational support functions within their busy Property Repairs Service (PRS). This short-term role offers an excellent chance to contribute to the effective delivery of social housing and property maintenance.
Reporting to the Property Repairs Manager, you will oversee the daily management of scheduling, financial processing, systems administration, and the back-office team, ensuring a customer-focused service aligned with RBC CANDO values.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading the scheduling of repairs, ensuring timely work allocation to trade staff.
2. Managing and supporting administrators, coordinators, and schedulers, focusing on performance, development, and service quality.
3. Acting as deputy for the Property Repairs Manager when needed.
4. Responding to enquiries and complaints from customers, elected members, MPs, suppliers, and contractors.
5. Accurately recording, processing, and analyzing financial and operational data, including invoices, purchase orders, rechargeable repairs, and budget tracking.
6. Supporting the implementation of the Service Improvement Plan and ongoing service enhancements.
7. Monitoring team performance through meetings, 1:1s, appraisals, and well-being checks.
8. Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, governance, and council policies.
9. Leading staff inductions, return-to-work procedures, and managing absences.
10. Representing PRS in cross-organizational projects.
This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, preferably with experience in local government or social housing repairs. A good understanding of service performance, supply chain management, and customer service is essential.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required for this position.
