Job summary


We are looking for an organised, forward-thinking and collaborative PMO Support Lead to join our Business Transformation Programme (BTP) in the Programme Management Office (PMO) for a 23-months fixed term period. This role is instrumental in shaping, operating and continuously improving governance and reporting across NS&I's change portfolio. You will also lead and develop a team of 4+ Project Support Officers, ensuring high -quality delivery, pastoral support and a positive team culture.

Job Description

As the PMO Support Lead, you will be responsible for being the Secretariat for multiple key governance forums up to Board level, and key action and decision tracking across the Business Transformation Programme. You will also lead the Project Support Officer team in the Programme Management Office, ensuring workload balance, professional development and wellbeing.

• Secretariat responsibilities for multiple key governance forums up to Board level, including recording minutes, actions and decisions.

• Draft and maintain terms of reference, roles and responsibilities for governance forums.

• Work with stakeholders to develop governance forum agendas, prepare reporting packs, and collate updates for various reporting committees and other internal/external forums as required.

• Develop and maintain governance and reporting schedules, decision and action logs and controls and processes supporting robust governance and reporting.

• Lead and manage a team of Project Support Officers, providing task management, coaching and regular 1:1s.

• Monitor team capacity and escalate resource gaps or constraints to the leadership team.

• Support team development, embedding best practice and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

• Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies across a large change programme, working collaboratively with a dynamic and highly skilled team to enhance delivery outcomes.

We will assess applications on your career history and personal statement.

In the event we receive a large number of applicants, applications will be sifted first on the Personal Statement. Only those that meet the minimum acceptable score for this criteria will qualify for the full sift and be considered for interview.

If shortlisted, you will be invited to attend a 1 hour panel interview via video call.

As part of this interview you will be asked to make a 10 minute presentation aimed at demonstrating your Essential Skills & Experience.

Interviews will take place on w/c 30 March 2026 but may be subject to change.

If you are transferring on promotion, you will be offered the starting salary at the bottom of the pay scale. If you are transferring on promotion and your existing salary is within the advertised range, you will be offered a maximum of a 10% uplift on your existing salary (up to the advertised maximum).
