Community Environment Warden

Salary: £28,163 to £29,093 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
FY25/26 pay award pending.
This is a full-time position; however, we welcome applications from those who wish to work part-time or job share.

Role Overview
We are looking for a new Community Environment Warden to join a small team of wardens carrying out environmental enforcement activity across Teignbridge. Responsibilities include dealing with cases of fly tipping, littering, dog fouling, commercial waste enforcement, and abandoned vehicle inspections. You will also have the opportunity to support other functions within the Neighbourhoods service area. All work promotes Teignbridge as a safe place to live, visit, and work.

* Relevant experience and ideally knowledge of the various powers available to take enforcement action.

Candidate Criteria
* Good literacy and numeracy skills – equivalent to GCSE Maths and English Grade C (4) or above
* Basic relevant experience and understanding of the role
* Awareness of environmental enforcement action
* Good customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, the public, and business owners
* Ability to cooperate with others to achieve good outcomes as a team
