3 positions available: 1 Fixed Term – 37 hours, until February 2027 due to funding. 1 Fixed Term – 18.5 hours, until February 2027 due to funding. 1 Permanent – 37 hours.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Improvement Officer in the Waste Management team. Responsible for developing and implementing plans that reflect the environmental priorities and needs of communities in the Newington, St. Andrews, University, Avenue, Newland and Myton wards, making a visible difference to the street scene in those communities.
Key responsibilities:
 * Consult, involve, challenge and influence residents and stakeholders with regard to waste management practice.
 * Provide advice, guidance and problem resolution on waste‑related matters for residents and businesses in the target wards.
 * Assist in delivering bespoke waste minimisation initiatives to residents, schools and businesses, in partnership with voluntary sector organisations.
 * Hold a current full UK driving licence, be an excellent communicator, have practical experience of dealing with the public and an understanding of Hull City Council’s recycling schemes.
 * Be willing to work outside the office environment.
 * Be customer‑focused with the ability to prioritise and effectively manage time.
You will join a welcoming service, where expectations are high but where you will receive support and supervision to really make a difference on environmental issues affecting Hull.
