Main duties of the job
In this role, you will support the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy services across dispensation and stores. Working under the supervision of a registered pharmacy professional, your key responsibilities will include:
* Dispensary Support
o Accurately label and dispense medicines in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
o Assist with prescription processing and maintain accurate records on the hospital system.
o Provide a helpful and professional service to patients and staff at the pharmacy reception.
* Stores & Stock Management
o Receive, check, and store pharmaceutical deliveries safely.
o Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and rotate stock to minimise waste.
o Pick and pack medicines for wards and clinics, ensuring timely delivery.
* Ward Support
o Participate in ward top-up systems to maintain stock levels.
o Liaise with ward teams to ensure medicines are available when needed.
* General Duties
o Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
o Handle enquiries professionally and refer queries appropriately.
o Support over-labelling and pre-packing of medicines.
o Contribute to audits and service improvements.
o Participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas as required.

Person Specification
Essential
* Good general standard of education demonstrating numeracy and literacy
* Willing to complete a comprehensive training and competency programme
* Willing to complete Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services
* Demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a team, both alone and under supervision
* Able to work effectively under pressure
* Computer literate
Desirable
* Level 2 in Pharmacy Services
* Basic knowledge of stock control / stock rotation
* Previous experience of working in a pharmacy
* Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment
* Previous experience of working face‑to‑face with customers / patients
