Due to our continued growth, we are recruiting for a Module Leader – Body Structures to be based at our customer’s site in Crewe.
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a rapidly expanding division within Tata Technologies Limited, working on exciting global projects across Automotive, Aerospace, and Industrial Heavy Machinery sectors.
The Role:
The Module Leader will be responsible for setting up and managing the program module team, ensuring the achievement of technical and commercial program deliverables. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships across multiple engineering departments such as manufacturing, supplier quality, purchasing, and service, as well as with other program management teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Establish, plan, and lead engineering subsystem meetings to ensure cross-functional input and representation.
2. Provide leadership within your module for the development of new engineering systems and components.
3. Manage the team, plan projects, and report progress to management.
4. Attend key meetings and coordinate cross-functional reviews.
5. Guide the progression of the module from initial concept to Engineering Sign-Off and design gateways.
6. Set and meet cost and weight targets for the module.
7. Ensure regulatory compliance of all Body Structures and Subsystems.
8. Define and deliver system-level engineering targets to meet vehicle program requirements.
9. Ensure products meet specifications and project targets through documented DVP.
10. Track and resolve all validation issues.
11. Develop system design specifications, including standards, test procedures, and material specs.
12. Lead failure mode avoidance activities such as DFMEA and development tests.
13. Maintain all documentation according to ISO and quality standards.
14. Resolve design, attribute, or packaging incompatibilities via cross-functional meetings.
15. Support sourcing and RFQ activities with the purchasing team.
16. Assist with vehicle launch and pre-production builds, both virtual and physical.
17. Apply APQP effectively to manage module delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven program management skills, demonstrated by recent successful delivery within time, cost, quality, and attribute targets.
* Experience in delivering at least two programs from concept to SOP.
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
* Experience in developing complex program timelines and understanding financial implications.
* Deep knowledge in development and/or integration of Body Structures & Subsystems.
* Engineering expertise in component/system design, function, performance, and manufacturing requirements.
* Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
* Experience liaising with suppliers, manufacturing, CAE, and validation teams.
* CAD literacy, with ability to generate data in CATIA V5/NX.
* Understanding of BOM management and change tracking.
* Experience with engineering tools such as FMEA, Six Sigma, and problem resolution techniques.
Education:
BE/B. Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Automotive Engineering.
