Are you ready for career progression?
Based in Kirkintilloch, our fabulous team are on the lookout for an experienced individual with a calm and understanding nature to join them as a Complex Needs Practitioner Level 2 on a full-time, permanent basis.
It would be great if you have a full UK manual driving license with a minimum of 1 years’ driving experience as many of the people we support have their own mobility cars. However, this is not essential to join our team.
The Role
Our service in Kirkintilloch is a Registered Care Home model, consisting of two purpose built/designed bungalows that will each accommodate three individuals with complex support requirements.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a brand-new service and assist with its development; the six individuals come from in the main longer-term care within current health board sites and some with both physical as well as behavioural support requirements.
As a Complex Needs Practitioner, you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you’ll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends.
In our service we may use CALM which are physical intervention and escape techniques to ensure the safety of supported individuals, colleagues, and members of the public. Techniques include but are not limited to; posture and distance when supporting, understanding triggers and escalations signs along with guiding individuals away to deescalate situations.
To be an amazing Complex Needs Practitioner, we’ll need you to have:
1. Experience in a care setting
2. Knowledge of care plans
3. An empathetic and caring nature
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Confidence in using computers
6. The ability to work well in a team environment and on your own
7. Good organisational skills
