Are you ready for career progression?

Based in Kirkintilloch, our fabulous team are on the lookout for an experienced individual with a calm and understanding nature to join them as a Complex Needs Practitioner Level 2 on a full-time, permanent basis.

It would be great if you have a full UK manual driving license with a minimum of 1 years’ driving experience as many of the people we support have their own mobility cars. However, this is not essential to join our team.

The Role

Our service in Kirkintilloch is a Registered Care Home model, consisting of two purpose built/designed bungalows that will each accommodate three individuals with complex support requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a brand-new service and assist with its development; the six individuals come from in the main longer-term care within current health board sites and some with both physical as well as behavioural support requirements.

As a Complex Needs Practitioner, you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you’ll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends.

In our service we may use CALM which are physical intervention and escape techniques to ensure the safety of supported individuals, colleagues, and members of the public. Techniques include but are not limited to; posture and distance when supporting, understanding triggers and escalations signs along with guiding individuals away to deescalate situations.

To be an amazing Complex Needs Practitioner, we’ll need you to have:

1. Experience in a care setting
2. Knowledge of care plans
3. An empathetic and caring nature
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Confidence in using computers
6. The ability to work well in a team environment and on your own
7. Good organisational skills

Benefits:

8. TRFS rewards scheme (which includes cash-back and discounts at a variety of high street and online retailers)
9. Paid travel during shifts and 45p per mile fuel allowance
10. Continuous in-house training opportunities and chances to further your career in social care
11. Refer a Friend scheme- £150 reward for successfully referring a friend, family member or colleague
12. Free Membership of Glasgow Credit Union
13. HSF Health Care plan
14. Counselling & Life Works service

Closing Date: 20th of August 2025 - We’re looking to fill these posts as soon as possible and reserve the right to close the advert if suitable candidates are found before the closing date. To avoid disappointment, pop your application in early.

All successful Complex Needs Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer- this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.

We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications irrespective of race, ethnicity or national origin, religion, gender, disability, age, marital, parental status or sexual orientation. Our mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams.

We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to join us!
