We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Trading Underwriter to join our UK-wide Delegated Authority/Schemes team.
About the role:
1. Service brokers with delegated authority for specific commercial insurance schemes, acting as the main contact for referrals outside their delegated authority.
2. Collaborate with brokers to assess referrals and support continuous personal growth through clear communication.
3. Ideal for an experienced Technical Underwriter from a broker or insurer background, passionate about career development and relationship nurturing.
Key responsibilities:
1. Handle referrals outside broker delegated authority with clear rationale.
2. Support Schemes Underwriting Lead and contribute to system performance improvements.
3. Maintain knowledge of scheme governance and regulatory requirements related to delegation of authority.
4. Train, develop, and mentor less experienced colleagues.
5. Continuously develop personal skills in line with Licence to Grade requirements.
Skills and experience:
1. Proven experience in Commercial Motor and/or Commercial Property & Liability underwriting.
2. Ability to handle complex risks and mentor junior team members.
3. Confidence to lead broker discussions for mutually beneficial outcomes.
