Purpose of the Role
Continental Bitumen (part of Colas Group) is seeking a Management Accountant for the Bristol Depot (£45,000 - £50,000). Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will produce timely management accounts and reports, support business partnering, prepare budgets, and communicate risks and performance issues with stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
* Improve finance systems and ensure financial protocols.
* Allocate costs accurately to contracts/departments.
* Manage sales invoicing and purchase ledgers.
* Produce monthly and annual management accounts, including P&L and variance analysis.
* Oversee weekly payroll and subcontractor payments.
* Prepare reporting for aged working capital, provisions, and assist with budget preparation.
* Ensure local financial governance and group policy compliance.
Ideal Candidate
You are a qualified Accountant or have at least 5 years’ experience, ideally in construction. Strong communication skills and a good knowledge of accounting/reporting systems and relevant legislation are essential. You must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word and confident analysing data.
