Position Overview
I am very keen to hear from you if you are an experienced Pharmacy Assistant looking to expand your skill set with a move from Community into Hospital Pharmacy or are looking to progress further in your career within a hospital setting.
Qualifications & Training
* Obtained Specialist BTEC Level 2 Principles and Practices for Pharmacy Support Staff Pharmacy Service Skills NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent GPhC recognised qualification). This is not essential and support through the qualification process can be provided.
* Successful applicants who do not hold the required qualification will be paid at band 2, rising to band 3 on successful completion of the qualification.
Role Details
* Predominantly ward based role across medicine with a 20% dispensary commitment at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
* Supported by evolving technology, electronic prescribing, and a robot for labelling and dispensing medications. Successful applicant will be trained in the full use of the robotic system.
Key Responsibilities
* Dispense medicines according to procedure.
* Use the Pharmacy computer system to produce dispensing labels.
* Prepare emergency drug boxes.
* Maintain accurate medication records.
* Assist in efficient stock control management.
Career Path
Many of our staff progress from this level to become Pharmacy Technicians or take other roles within the wider Pharmacy team.
