* Sufficiency, Access and Inclusion
In a borough with a high proportion of maintained schools, these roles have considerable scope and influence. You will work closely with school leaders at all levels to promote good practice, share expertise and set clear expectations.
We are looking for individuals who can provide high‑quality support and challenge in their area of specialism, while also being able to influence across the system. You will oversee work with schools to develop their expertise and capacity, ensuring a more consistent experience for children and young people, and when necessary, challenge performance.
This work comes with high levels of attention and scrutiny. It is essential that you understand the political dynamics of leading on such a high‑profile area. You will need to build positive relationships with school leaders and governors, build consensus around expectations and momentum behind the practical steps needed to bring about better outcomes for young people.
Responsibilities
* Lead on school effectiveness, SEND, sufficiency, access and inclusion.
* Promote good practice, share expertise, and set clear expectations with school leaders across the borough.
* Oversee work with schools to develop expertise and capacity, ensuring a more consistent experience for children and young people.
* Challenge performance where necessary.
* Build positive relationships with school leaders and governors and build consensus around expectations and momentum for practical steps to improve outcomes.
Qualifications
* Leadership experience within the sector, either in another local authority or a multi‑academy trust.
* Well‑informed on current and emerging issues for the sector.
* Detailed appreciation of the challenges that each school faces, individually and as part of the wider system.
