About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead a small, specialist childrens residential home supporting young people aged 1118 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) .
The home provides a safe, therapeutic environment for Looked After Children who may have experienced trauma, emotional dysregulation, or self-harming behaviours. Our goal is to support every young person to heal, grow, and transition successfully whether returning home, moving to foster care, or preparing for independence.
You will lead a dedicated team committed to delivering the highest standard of care, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and Childrens Homes Regulations (2015), and maintaining a nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the home in line with Ofsted standards, Childrens Homes Regulations, and internal policies.
Lead and develop a team of care professionals through supervision, training, and mentoring.
Promote and safeguard the welfare and wellbeing of all young people.
Ensure the delivery of trauma-informed, child-centred care that supports emotional recovery.
Drive continuous improvement to achieve Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
Maintain occupancy levels and ensure high-quality placement stability.
Represent the home with local authorities, commissioners, and other external agencies.
Foster a positive team culture built on compassion, respect, and accountability.
Oversee health and safety, safeguarding, and operational compliance.
Essential Requirements
? Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). ? Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Manager in an Ofsted-registered childrens home with a Good rating or above. ? Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. ? Enhanced DBS check (on the update service). ? Ability to work flexibly to meet the homes operational needs.
