This role is part time, offering 21 hours per week and all requests to work flexibly will be considered, allowing for business needs, and reviewed annually.

Main duties of the job
Defence Primary Healthcare delivers a clinical service in accordance with National Health Service (NHS) Standards and Ministry of Defence policies. You will primarily provide dental treatment, oral hygiene instruction and education, administration, enhancing force generation and operational capability, and minimising dental morbidity on operations. You may also provide, if requested, clinical and administrative support for delivery of dental care in other local Defence Primary Healthcare sites or during health fairs.
Requirements
* Part‑time commitment of 21 hours per week with flexibility considered.
* Must be eligible for security clearance at the required level.
* Must be a UK resident unless otherwise authorised.
* Must provide evidence of Hepatitis B immunity (serology evidence).
* Must meet the NHS pension scheme eligibility requirements.
* Successful applicants will undergo a six‑month probationary period from the start date.
* Applicants approaching graduation may apply but must obtain full qualification and GDC membership before commencing the role.
* Ability to travel to other local defence dental centres and attend oral health fairs.
Qualifications and Memberships
* Certificate/Diploma in Dental Hygiene or BSc in Dental Therapy.
* Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC). State any restrictions or pending membership.
* Experience in using relevant information technology systems.
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
* Demonstrated honesty, trustworthiness, reliability and ability to work under pressure.
* Good time‑management and time‑keeping.
Additional Employment Conditions
* No relocation expenses are offered.
* This role does not provide visa sponsorship under the points‑based system and is not open to individuals requiring such sponsorship.
* Deployment is not required; role based at home.
* Reporting may require a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
