Ad-Hoc Learning Support Assistant (SEN) Agency: Teaching Personnel Location: Southampton and surrounding areas Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Flexible / Ad-Hoc / Supply About the Role Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting flexible and reliable Learning Support Assistants to work on an ad-hoc basis within a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across Southampton. This role is perfect for candidates seeking varied experience, day-to-day assignments, and the opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in rewarding school environments. You will support pupils with a variety of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SLD/MLD, and communication or physical difficulties. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN Assist with classroom activities planned by the teacher Support behaviour management and emotional regulation Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils Adapt support based on individual needs and learning plans Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff Requirements Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience beneficial) A calm, patient, and supportive approach Strong communication and teamwork skills An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel) Flexibility for short-notice, ad-hoc bookings Right to work in the UK What Teaching Personnel Offer Competitive hourly rate of £13.75 Flexible, regular ad-hoc work across Southampton SEN schools Access to free CPD and training through the TP Education Hub Personal consultant support Opportunity to gain experience across a range of specialist educational settings All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
