The Role:
* Project Engineer - Fleet Engineering
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering and managing a variety of projects for our clients across the UK rail industry.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Project management and delivery of technical work within specified projects
* Delivery of maintenance or overhaul optimization on fleets of traction and rolling stock
* Production of technical documentation and reports
* Predominantly office-based work with occasional offsite work throughout the UK
* Chairing meetings with clients and other industry professionals at all seniority levels
* Maintaining continuous communication with clients in the development and delivery of projects
* Undertaking vehicle inspections on various rolling stock and plant equipment
* Conducting risk assessments and analysis relating to engineering changes
* Analyzing maintenance costs, identifying proposals to increase performance-to-cost ratios
* Analyzing failure trends and frequencies, identifying root causes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
* Proficient knowledge of planning, managing, and delivering projects on time and to budget
* Ability to communicate and present yourself effectively to peers and customers
* Practical experience in rolling stock engineering and/or maintenance
* Excellent technical report writing skills
* Experience in undertaking process and production audits
* Fleet engineering experience
* Knowledge of modern rolling stock and systems
* Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with a professional body (or working towards)
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or HND with significant relevant experience
* At least 5 years relevant experience
* Strong experience in Microsoft Office
* Familiarity with rail industry standards
