An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to join the central Outpatient Management Team at BHT. This role provides operational support and leadership to the Outpatient Directorate spanning across several hospital sites.
Main duties of the job
The Service Manager will provide day-to-day operational management to the Outpatient administration teams and support the General Manager with project management and service improvement initiatives to improve service delivery and patient experience in key areas, and will help to ensure that performance and quality targets are met.
You will foster effective communication across all levels to maintain confidence in the Outpatient setting among clinicians and administration staff.
Your responsibilities will span operational management, service development, performance management, financial oversight, quality governance and staff management. As a proactive leader, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, lead service improvement projects, and develop robust performance frameworks to exceed best practice guidelines. Financial acumen will be crucial as you manage budgets, implement cost reduction strategies, and ensure efficient service delivery within allocated resources.
You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring effective recruitment, retention, and development of staff aligned with Trust values and policies. Your role will involve managing staff performance, conducting appraisals, and fostering a culture of high morale and motivation.

1. Education to degree level or equivalent

4. Significant experience of working in a customer focused environment
5. Demonstrable experience of using a solution focused approach to problem solving
6. Experience of building and sustaining Services with senior stakeholders
7. Experience of managing teams of staff
