Coastal Path Care is looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and proactive Residential Support Worker to join our team at our children's residential home. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care, support, and guidance to the young people in our care. Your role will involve supporting their emotional, social, and educational development while creating a safe and nurturing environment that empowers them to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct Care and Support: Provide day-to-day care for the children in our home, ensuring their emotional, physical, and social needs are met.
* Supportive Relationships: Build positive, trusting relationships with the young people in our care, offering guidance, reassurance, and practical support.
* Care Plans: Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans for each child, ensuring that their needs are met and progress is monitored.
* Promote Independence: Support the children in developing independent living skills, such as managing personal care, maintaining routines, and decision-making.
* Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of the children by following safeguarding policies and procedures, reporting any concerns as required.
* Activity Support: Organize and participate in activities that promote social skills, education, and personal development.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the children's progress, behaviours, and incidents, ensuring that all records are in line with company policies.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members and external professionals to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to care and support.
* Health & Safety: Ensure a safe and clean living environment for the children, following health and safety guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent is desirable, but not essential.
* Previous experience in a residential care setting or working with children and young people is desirable but not essential.
* Passion for working with children and young people, with a commitment to their well-being and development.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team, showing empathy and patience in your role.
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building supportive relationships.
* A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Full, clean driver's license is desirable.
