Consultant in Medical Oncology – Breast Cancer and Acute Oncology

Position is at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, covering both Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, Fulham Road and West Middlesex Hospital, Isleworth.
The successful candidate will support and lead the Breast Cancer and Acute Oncology services across both sites, delivering systemic therapies, participating in clinical trials, and ensuring high quality patient care.
Job Responsibilities
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide expert oncology input.
* Deliver and supervise systemic anti‑cancer therapy for patients.
* Attend and lead Acute Oncology ward rounds on both hospital sites.
* Develop and maintain local Acute Oncology guidelines and links with the UKONS service.
* Support the Breast Cancer service, attend weekly Breast MDT meetings, and supervise admission and day‑unit care.
* Lead the Acute Oncology service and drive service improvement aligned with Trust and Division plans.
* Provide teaching, examination and accreditation for junior doctors, nursing and allied health professionals.
* Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education and continuous professional development.
* Participate in clinical audit, research, and clinical governance activities.
* Provide cover for colleagues during leave as per Trust policy.
* Manage clinical emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
* Ensure compliance with clinical governance, risk management, and NICE guidance.
* Maintain and foster improvements in quality and standards of clinical services.
Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.
Person Specification
* Experience in medical oncology, particularly in breast cancer and acute oncology settings.
* Strong research background or interest.
* Experience with clinical governance, audit and teaching duties.
