A fantastic opportunity to join Fletchers Solicitors’ growing Serious Injury team as a Lead Paralegal. You will work closely with a Lead Lawyer to deliver cases valued up to £500,000, ensuring timely progression and maximising damages and costs across a multi‑track caseload ranging from RTAs to EL, PL and OL matters.

Salary: DOE (Negotiable)

Main Responsibilities
* Progress files in line with KPI targets
* Assist a Lead Lawyer to ensure timely and efficient matter progression
* Liaise with clients, experts, barristers, third‑party solicitors/insurers, police and other relevant parties
* Handle all aspects of pre‑ and post‑issue procedures as directed
* Draft statements of case, witness statements, application notices, pleadings and instructions
* Prepare accurate and detailed file notes
* Maintain case plans and summaries, taking a proactive approach
* Research points of law regarding liability and quantum to ensure accuracy before undertaking tasks
* Support telephone negotiations and case‑management conferences with solicitors and courts
* Pursue cases to conclusion as directed
* Attend court, joint settlement meetings, case‑management conferences and other hearings
* Prepare trial bundles
* Assist with/preparing cost instructions sheets and disbursement lists
* Maintain an excellent level of client care
Essential Skills and Experience
* Good researching and drafting skills
* Sound knowledge of serious injury law and court procedure
* Excellent attention to detail with strong file management and organisational skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to adapt to a diverse environment and analyse complex information to make reasoned decisions
* IT competency
* Excellent time‑management and organisational skills
* Preferably previous experience in a personal injury department
* Flexibility in working hours and willingness to travel
* Willingness to work with other teams across the business
* Willingness to engage in networking and marketing events
* Buddying new members to aid development
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* A law degree or a Graduate Diploma in Law, or desire to gain legal qualifications via CILEX, paralegal apprenticeship or the SQE routes
* Previous legal work experience in the PI field
* Driving licence
