The Role
Lead the school’s pastoral systems with a clear focus on behaviour, attendance, and pupil engagement. Work closely with senior leaders, staff, families, and external agencies to improve attendance, support positive behaviour, and help create a calm, structured environment where pupils are ready to learn.
The Candidate
You are calm, resilient, and confident leading in a setting where consistency matters. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families, and balance empathy with clear boundaries. You are committed to improving outcomes and can lead pastoral support in a way that is visible, practical, and effective.
Requirements
* Pastoral experience – proven experience supporting or leading behaviour, attendance, safeguarding, or wider pastoral provision in a school or similar setting.
* Communication – clear and confident verbal and written communication with pupils, families, staff and external agencies.
* Behaviour and Attendance – strong understanding of behaviour systems, attendance procedures, and the barriers that can affect pupil engagement.
* Enhanced DBS – must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
* Professional Commitment – genuine commitment to improving pupil wellbeing, attendance, conduct, and long‑term outcomes.
