Customer Care Officer - Portglenone Marina & Newferry- Mid & East Antrim Borough Council An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Customer Care Officer to join Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, based across Portglenone Marina and Newferry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and presentation of facilities, including the marina, public buildings, toilets, open spaces, and car park areas. This hands-on role also involves welcoming visitors, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and ensuring a safe, positive experience for all users of the site.
About the role:
1. £13.26 per hour
2. Friday, Saturday & Sunday (11am - 4pm)
3. 15 hours a week
4. Location: Portglenone Marina Public Building & Newferry Slipway
5. Temporary - up to 6 months
6. Public sector
7. Closing date: Tuesday 25th November at 4pm
What you'll be doing in this role
8. Ensure a high standard of excellence in caretaking and cleaning services in the Portglenone and Newferry internal and external sites.
9. Carry out regular inspections of the marina, designated public realm and car park areas to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations. This would include opening and closing the sites as required.
10. Implement a structured cleaning regime for all aspects of the buildings and external areas, including offices, foyer, refreshment area, public/berth holder areas, toilets, meeting space and Air-de-Service etc. in line with business requirements.
11. Maintain appropriate supplies of cleaning/housekeeping materials and prepare orders for management.
12. Report any issues in relation to the pontoons and berthing to Management.
13. Complete and maintain appropriate and accurate records of all tasks carried out.
What you'll need for this role
14. A minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English Language and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy.
15. Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have 1years’ experience (or 2 years’ experience for candidates who do not meet the qualification requirements as outlined above) to include caretaking and/or cleaning duties
16. Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have 1 years’ experience (or 2 years’ experience for candidates who do not meet the qualification requirements as outlined above) to include: working with the general public in a customer focused environment
17. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Outlook and Excel in particular).
18. A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle or if a disability prevents being able to drive, have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
