Job Description
Job Duties:
1. Prepare estimates, budgets, and cost plans for construction projects
2. Conduct risk assessments and value engineering
3. Manage project costs within budget constraints
4. Prepare tender and contract documents
5. Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
6. Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
7. Monitor and control project progress and costs
Required Qualifications:
8. Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
9. Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS) is desirable
Education:
10. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
Experience:
11. At least 3 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
12. Experience in managing project costs and budgets
13. NEC 3 & 4 Experience
14. Water Infrastucture if possible
Knowledge and Skills:
15. Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes
16. Excellent numerical and analytical skills
17. Good communication and negotiation abilities
18. Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Excel, CostX)
Preferred Qualifications:
19. Chartered status with RICS or equivalent
20. Master's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
Working Conditions:
21. Office-based work with occasional site visits
22. Hybrid working
23. Standard working hours with potential for overtime
24. Travel may be required to project sites
