Job Title: Continuous Improvement Engineer
Location: Melksham, UK (HPW)
Scope of the Function
We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer based at HPW, reporting to Rob Midgley - CI and Transformation Leader. This is a permanent position.
The engineer will drive site improvements through Kaizen and A3 methodologies, utilizing lean manufacturing principles to optimize operational efficiency. Responsibilities include data analysis, implementing corrective measures, and enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency within manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide coaching on Lean Methodology and Continuous Improvement Techniques.
2. Investigate and implement processes to maximize productivity.
3. Conduct process reviews, root cause analyses, and develop improvement plans using A3 and lean manufacturing.
4. Facilitate Kaizen workshops for team development.
5. Support manufacturing with technical engineering for new products and processes.
6. Manage CI documentation, revisions, and control.
7. Assist in completing flow diagrams, change controls, FMEA, etc., in Kaizen-impacted departments.
8. Champion process improvement initiatives organization-wide and with suppliers.
9. Collaborate with all employee levels to identify improvement opportunities and implement changes.
10. Train and mentor team members in improved processes.
11. Stay updated on management and process optimization developments.
12. Maintain an environment of continuous improvement through active A3 and Kaizen management.
13. Experience with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
14. Improve non-manufacturing processes such as information flow and office processes.
15. Commit to Standardized Work, 5S, and In-Process Quality.
16. Travel approximately 10% of the time.

Desirable
* Facilitated at least 5 week-long Kaizen Events.
Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, with two years of continuous improvement experience.
* Certifications or training in quality and/or continuous improvement.
* 2+ years applying CI methodologies and tools.
* Excellent communication skills, including report writing, facilitation, and presentations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Vision.
Experience
* Hands-on experience in improving production sites, with knowledge of flow, Kanban, and 5S, ideally in a regulated industry.
