Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Metal Polisher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing and polishing of all our bespoke stainless steel products to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetic finish.
This role requires attention to detail and a strong understanding of various fabrication processes. The Polisher will work closely with other team members to maintain production efficiency and uphold the highest quality standards, whilst completing projects to a defined timescales.
Duties
* Operate polishing machines and rotary hand tools to achieve desired finishes on bespoke stainless steel products (such as worktops, sinks etc)
* Perform grinding and fabrication tasks as needed to prepare materials for polishing. This will include the removal of scratches, grinding of welds and overall polishing and graining of all our bespoke products to a satin/brushed finish, together with blending of weld seams to the milled finish, as required.
* Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure the highest level of finish is achieved.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
* DSM is a small company, so all members of the production team are required to develop a well rounded set of skills and must be prepared to assist in other areas of the factory as required.
Skills
* Proficient in stainless steel polishing techniques including grinding of welds, removal of scratches, and polishing with rotary tools to ensure a consistent and uniform final polished finish over large areas.
* Additional knowledge of fabrication techniques, including TIG welding as also useful, but not essential.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in working with sheet metal.
* Ability to use hand tools effectively and safely, ensuring precision in all tasks.
* Familiarity with tooling processes and equipment used in polishing operations.
* Basic mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately.
* Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high-quality finishes on all products.

The Interview
All candidates will be expect to attend an in-person interview on site, and complete a polishing test on a test unit to demonstrate their skills and abilities. PPE will be provided.

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
