About The Team:
SRUC’s School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences (SVMB), the first new School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland for 150 years, was founded on the organisation’s established, high‑profile expertise across this sector.
SVMB is a natural evolution of SRUC’s established, interprofessional and highly acclaimed expertise in Veterinary and Animal Biosciences. In combination with our unique reach into the Scottish sector, we will drive excellence. Our collegiate approach will facilitate synergies, addressing skills, knowledge and enterprise gaps across the breadth of this sector – providing essential support to Scotland’s Natural Economy.
Wayne Powell, SRUC Principal and CEO affirms that, “this is a ground‑breaking model to expand access to educational opportunities and broaden the range of potential students who would not ordinarily be able to attend a School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences. It is also the first to offer a tertiary range of educational opportunities for veterinary professionals and in the related animal sciences.”
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive administrator to support the delivery of Intra‑Mural Rotations (IMR) for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSci) programme. This key role provides essential administrative co‑ordination to ensure the smooth and effective running of IMR placements, which form a vital component of students’ final year of study.
IMR placements take place year‑round across a wide range of distributed settings, including veterinary practices, veterinary public health services and other approved veterinary environments. The postholder will play a central role in managing the associated administration, supporting students, and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
The role requires regular handling of highly confidential and sensitive information, alongside effective liaison with external IMR placement providers and internal stakeholders, including Clinical Teaching Fellows (CTFs). Strong communication, discretion and attention to detail are essential to the success of this post.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be educated to a good general standard, with qualifications in English and Mathematics at SCQF level 5 (or equivalent).
