B6 Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) - Eating Disorder (CYP)
We are looking for a qualified CAP to join the children and young person team within an established and innovative All Age Eating Disorder Service in North East London NHS Foundation Trust. This full time position is open to individuals who have completed the MSc Clinical Associate in Psychology course with an associated University.
The post holder will work closely with children and young people and their family and carers. They will work closely with the Eating Disorder MDT, management, clinical lead and other services/agencies. This is a great opportunity to join our highly skilled, dedicated and friendly team.
Successful applicants will undertake assessment, formulation and evidence based psychological interventions with young people with eating disorders and their and families. Interventions may include the facilitation of groups as well as individual therapy. You will work under the supervision of an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
Main duties of the job
Provide psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions to young people experiencing an eating disorder and their families, under the supervision of a qualified Practitioner Psychologist (clinical or counselling psychologist).
1. Work as part of a multidisciplinary Eating Disorder community team and liaise with relevant external agencies to facilitate and enable psychological interventions
2. Carry out risk assessments in relation to psychological distress and to ensure that risk formulations are integrated with interventions understanding contingency management and the use of risk indicators in mitigating against crises.
3. Perform and interpret specific investigations, such as blood pressure, weight, hight, vital sign monitoring in order to manage the patient’s clinical risk effectively.
4. Ensure all patients have individualised care plans and that these are reviewed at appropriate intervals.
5. Develop clinical practice and procedures that best support the well being of children and you people with eating disorders and their families in the community.
6. Work with colleagues to ensure that specialist, professional, skilled clinical care is provided for patients and that this is adapted to meet their individual needs

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941 - per annum, pro rata for part time
