People Advisory Partner
* Location: North Hertfordshire /Cambridgeshire
* Contract: 3 Months / hybrid 2 days onsite
* Pay: Up to £500p/d
Role Purpose
The People Advisory Partner provides second-line HR advisory support to managers on employee relations and people management, while leading the local execution of organisational change and transformation initiatives. The role ensures enterprise people priorities are embedded effectively at a local level, complex employee relations matters are managed end-to-end, and managers are supported to lead their teams confidently through organisational change, including restructuring and redundancy programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the local implementation of organisational change, including restructures, redundancy programmes, performance frameworks, and engagement initiatives.
* Manage employee relations casework end-to-end, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, capability, and redundancy consultation processes.
* Act as the ER lead for redundancy consultations, ensuring legal compliance, quality consultation, accurate documentation, and effective risk management.
* Provide expert guidance to managers on performance management, performance reviews, and formal consultation processes.
* Partner with managers to ensure change plans are understood, effectively cascaded, and embedded within teams.
* Provide pragmatic, commercially sound advice on policy interpretation, employment law, and best practice.
* Identify and escalate high-risk, complex, or precedent-setting cases to the Regional or Country People Advisory Lead.
* Ensure all case management and consultation activity is consistent, compliant, well-documented, and aligned with employment legislation.
* Provide insight on local people risks, adoption challenges, and colleague sentiment to inform regional and enterprise decision-making.
* Coach and develop managers’ capability in handling people issues, performance conversations, and leading teams through change.
* Act as a key connector between enterprise frameworks and local delivery, working closely with People Business Partners, People Operations, and Centres of Excellence.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
* Degree-qualified (or equivalent professional experience).
* MCIPD Level 7 qualified.
* Strong working knowledge of local employment law and employee relations best practice.
* Significant experience in an HR advisory or employee relations role.
* Proven experience managing ER cases end-to-end, including redundancy consultations.
* Demonstrated experience supporting company restructuring, transformation, or organisational change.
* Hands-on experience with performance management, performance reviews, and formal consultations.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
* Pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with sound judgement.
* Resilient and confident in handling complex and sensitive matters.
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to coach managers and reinforce consistent people practices.
* Clear communicator, able to simplify complexity and reinforce change messages.
Desirable
* Experience working within a global, matrixed organisation.
* Exposure to large-scale change or multi-site restructuring programmes.
