Classroom Teaching Assistant (Mornings)
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and committed team at our lovely, small rural school, starting as soon as possible.
Hours: 8:30 - 1:00pm
22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 working weeks, term time only.
Pay award pending.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and positive person to support our busy, friendly and professional team. This post involves working in one of our classrooms during the morning — this could be in EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. The role includes a mix of in-class support, as well as running small groups or 1:1 interventions across the school.
You will need to be flexible and open to the varied challenges that come with working in a small school setting. A supportive, child-centred ethos and a highly professional approach are essential. Strong and effective communication skills with children, staff, parents and external agencies are also vital.
The Successful Candidate Will Need To
Have experience of working with primary-aged children
Be adaptable and confident working with whole classes, small groups and individuals
Be a good team player, while also able to use initiative
Be enthusiastic, well-organised and committee
Be willing to support pupils with a variety of needs
Promote our high expectations of behaviour and progress
Be willing to assist with break and lunch duties
Demonstrate good personal organisation and a flexible, dynamic and positive approach
Foster positive relationships across the school community
Be keen to undertake further training — this will be available
Qualifications And Training
An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification is desirable, along with GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent). Training will be provided and further development opportunities will be available.
