What You Will Be Doing At DeepL
* Drive cross-functional projects within the Convert and Scale organisation, collaborating closely with engineering teams and product managers.
* Shape the architectural direction of systems underpinning account, subscription, and enterprise capabilities to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
* Align technical strategy with business objectives with engineering leadership and other principal/staff engineers.
* Lead initiatives to support revenue growth through technology and maintain a software landscape for identity and access management, subscriptions & billing, conversions, retention optimization, and reconciliation with financial systems.
* Mentor, develop, and coach other senior engineers, engineering managers, and business leaders.
Your Responsibilities
* Drive the architecture of our business systems across teams, system owners, and engineers.
* Provide guidance on architecture and component lifecycle across services.
* Own revenue data management including data architecture and governance.
* Provide hands-on technical leadership and drive projects spanning 2-3 teams.
* Assist teams with planning and estimation of activities.
Qualities We Look For
* Experience in one or more of the following domains: Identity & Access Management, Fraud prevention, Payments, Monetization.
* Experience initiating and driving technical projects involving collaboration with multiple teams.
* 10+ years of hands-on technical experience as an engineer with a focus on business-logic intensive environments.
* Demonstrated ability to influence and mentor teams across multiple teams or larger structures.
* Proactive and proficient in stakeholder communication in English.
* Experience with observability practices (SLOs, dashboards, alerts) for business-critical systems.
* Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) is a plus.
