The Role
We are seeking a Collaboration Effectiveness Manager to lead and optimise how industry partners and the British Army work together.
This is not a programme or project management role.
It is a relationship‑led, influence‑driven role, focused on improving how organisations communicate, align, and work as one team.
You will operate in a matrix environment, working across multiple defence training organisations and directly with Army stakeholders. Your purpose is to ensure collaboration is effective, integrated and outcomes‑focused—enabling transformational collective training delivery.
Ultimately, everything you do supports the British Army’s readiness to fight and win.
What You’ll Be Doing
Strategic Collaboration Leadership
* Develop and embed frameworks that improve collaboration across multiple industry partners and Army stakeholders
* Facilitate joint planning, decision‑making and problem‑solving sessions aligned to collective training objectives
Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as a trusted interface between industry teams and Army leadership
* Build strong, credible relationships that encourage openness, trust and shared ownership
* Foster a collaborative culture focused on outcomes rather than hierarchy or bureaucracy
Collaboration Performance & Insight
* Define and track collaboration KPIs such as communication effectiveness, decision‑making speed and stakeholder confidence
* Provide insight, reporting and recommendations to senior leadership
Process & Tools Enablement
* Identify and introduce digital collaboration tools and platforms
* Standardise approaches to knowledge sharing, feedback loops and constructive challenge
Capability Building
* Design and deliver training to strengthen collaborative behaviours and ways of working
* Promote agile working, co‑creation and integrated delivery across teams
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring:
* Experience supporting programme environments focused on cultural change, collaboration or transformation (defence or government experience strongly preferred)
* Strong facilitation, influencing and relationship‑building capability
* Confidence operating across complex, multi‑stakeholder environments
* Experience working with or alongside military organisations (highly desirable)
* Excellent communication, analytical and reporting skills
Desirable:
* Training or certification in collaboration or change methodologies
* Background in organisational psychology, systems thinking or similar disciplines
You don’t need to have a military background—but you must understand what it means to put the mission first, move at pace, and focus on what truly delivers value.
