 
        Full-time Description About Us At the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama, we believe no one should go hungry, and that together we can end hunger. We feed people in need today and foster collaborative solutions to end hunger tomorrow. Serving 12 counties —Jefferson, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Talladega, Shelby, St. Clair, Walker, and Winston—we partner with over 300 community organizations, including food pantries, shelters, and children’s programs. We are looking for an Operations Manager who will strengthen our capacity to feed our neighbors through strong leadership, operational excellence, and innovative problem-solving. Requirements The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions of operations, with emphasis on logistics coordination, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, and partner relations. This role ensures warehouse processes, distribution schedules, and partner engagement strategies align with the organization’s overall mission and operational goals. The manager works closely with the team to strengthen the food bank’s capacity to feed our neighbors. Key Responsibilities 1. Administrative Oversight & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines for warehouse and distribution. Ensure compliance with Feeding America, USDA, and OSHA standards. Identify and mitigate operational risks; promote a culture of safety and accountability. 2. Strategic Planning & Decision-Making Use data from inventory and partner activity to guide leadership decisions. Prepare reports on operational performance, efficiency, and strategic direction. Lead seasonal surge planning, disaster response, and special projects. 3. Partner Engagement & External Relations Serve as the primary liaison for partner agencies regarding logistics and food safety. Deliver partner training sessions on compliance, reporting, and best practices. Work cross-functionally with Development and Programs to meet partner and community needs. 4. Data, Analysis & Reporting Manage systems such as Meal Connect and Primarius to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. Oversee inventory management and distribution analytics. Provide insights on partner trends and service gaps to inform long-term strategy. 5. Leadership & Internal Collaboration Supervise and mentor the Distribution Coordinator, Cold Storage Lead, and Warehouse Associates. Evaluate performance, recommend development opportunities, and enforce accountability. Represent Operations on leadership teams and promote collaboration across departments. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in operations administration, logistics, or compliance management. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proven leadership and analytical skills. Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and process improvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for staff and partner engagement. Experience in nonprofit or regulated industries preferred. Licenses & Certifications Valid driver’s license required. Food safety certification preferred. Physical & Work Environment Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequently standing, walking, and bending in a warehouse environment. Ability to work in refrigerated/freezer environments as needed. Occasional evenings and weekends required for projects or events. Salary Description $60K-$65K based on experience
