We're looking for a practical, hands-on Toolmaker with a solutions-focused mindset and a keen eye for detail. You'll take pride in high-quality craftsmanship, remain calm and adaptable under pressure, and consistently operate with safety and reliability at the forefront. Organised and collaborative, you'll be a valued team player who contributes positively to continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering function.
Working a days only continental shift pattern you will be supporting the manufacturing function within the business and earning a salary of £38,800 as a Toolmaker.
Key Responsibilities of a Toolmaker:
Operate and maintain a range of tool room machinery to support production and repair activities.
Respond quickly to tooling breakdowns to reduce disruption to manufacturing.
Manufacture new tools and components using technical drawings or by replicating parts.
Repair and modify a range of tooling, including extrusion and moulding systems.
Assist with general maintenance tasks and support breakdown recovery where needed.
Contribute to die and calibrator cleaning operations.
Maintain high workmanship standards and actively support continuous improvement.
Ensure a safe, compliant, and well-maintained working environment.
Work in accordance with the company's Health & Safety policies and engineering best practices.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Strong background in toolmaking or precision engineering.
Apprentice trained with a level 3 Qualification
Proficient with tool room machinery (e.g., lathes, mills, surface grinders).
Confident working from technical drawings and manufacturing to specification.
Comfortable working in a high-paced, production-led environment.
Solid understanding of workshop safety and engineering protocols. Benefits of this Toolmaker role:
