Want to explore child development and behaviour in a real secondary school setting?

We’re working with forward-thinking secondary schools in Gateshead who are keen to welcome a Psychology graduate into a Graduate Learning Support Assistant role.

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you’ll support pupils aged 11–16, particularly those with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs. This is hands‑on experience that universities simply cannot replicate.


Your role will include:

* Supporting students with SEMH needs in class
* Delivering small group interventions
* Helping implement behaviour support plans
* Working alongside SENCOs and pastoral leads
* Promoting positive routines and self‑regulation

Secondary schools in Gateshead are looking for Graduate Learning Support Assistants who are reflective, resilient, and ready to learn.


You’ll be ideal if you:

* Have recently graduated in Psychology
* Are considering educational psychology or teaching
* Understand behaviour through a developmental lens
* Communicate confidently with young people
* Are patient and adaptable

Experience in youth work, care, mental health support, or tutoring is beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
