Multi-Disciplinary Team/Disease Modifying Treatment Co-ordinator
As a core member of the MS Multi-disciplinary team, the Multi-Disciplinary Team/Disease Modifying Treatment Co-ordinator will help to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey across all elements of the service by co-ordinating process and monitoring the service provided to patients. To be responsible for the collection, and monitoring of all data pertaining to the service.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job:
Facilitate and co-ordinate the care pathway of patients on disease modifying treatment including Interferon's, Copaxone, Gilenya, Terinflunomide and Dimethyl Fumerate.
Establish and ensure the continuation of effective communication between the MDT Team, including Consultants. Specialist Nurses and Therapists.
Liaise with external prescription management companies, funding sources, regional physicians, regional MS Nurses, GPs and the patient as required.
Co-ordinate applications of funding for high cost drugs and manage the Blueteq funding approval database.
Deal with non-clinical queries from patients, their Carers, general practitioners and members of the MDT Team.
Work with the Specialist Nurses and Medical staff to streamline the process along the patient journey
Management of large numbers of patient prescriptions ensuring recording and approval on the Blueteq system

Qualifications
* RSA III or equivalent
* Word Processing Skills
* ECDL or equivalent
* Previous Medical Secretary experience
* Shorthand skills

* Ability to maintain accurate patient information.
* Ability to adhere to the Data Protection Act and national/ local guidelines concerning patient confidentiality
* Knowledge and experience of medical terminology
* Experience of accurate and timely data entry and producing reports
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office
* Expert skills in excel.
