What skills and experience we're looking for The role will primarily be based at Christ Church Academy; however, there will also be opportunities to support within The Key Educational Trust, working collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust to further develop and strengthen SEND provision and provide a consistent strategic outlook.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting inclusive practice, working closely with staff, parents and external agencies to ensure that all pupils receive the support they need to succeed both academically and socially.

We are looking for someone who is dedicated, organised and collaborative, with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for children with additional needs.

The successful candidate will join a supportive staff team and will have access to ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

As part of your work at the Academy and wider Trust, you will be required to teach, however, the hours taught will reflect the nature of the SENCO position and all that it entails.

You will need to be:

a dynamic and proactive practitioner with high expectations for all pupils, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities,

passionate about inclusive education, with the ability to support, inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential,

committed to ensuring that no child is left behind, demonstrating dedication and a willingness to go the extra mile to secure the best outcomes for every pupil,

a collaborative professional who can work effectively with staff, parents, external agencies and the wider school community,

someone who can support and promote the Christian ethos and values of our school.

What the school offers its staff The Key Educational Trust, established in 2016 serves 5 academies (including First, Primary and Middle schools) and is part of the wider Stone School Partnership.

Our schools vary in size from 545 children in the largest to 57 in the smallest and cover a wide age range; Nursery and Reception (age 3-4yrs) to Year 8 (age 12-13yrs). This role is primarily based at Christ Church Academy with a view to wider Trust support for an experienced candidate or development path.

The school is well supported by a very committed local governing committee as well as the Trust Board.

Christ Church Academy is a very popular and successful five-form entry middle school in Stone, Staffordshire and was graded as ‘Good’ in our last Ofsted inspection in January 2022. The school was awarded the ‘Excellent’ grade in its SIAMS inspection in 2020. The school benefits from a well-established and experienced staff team who ‘go the extra mile’ to secure excellent outcomes for the children we teach.

Many of the teaching staff are subject specialists who teach across the age range 9-13 years.

The curriculum is ambitious, broad and balanced and is enriched by a very extensive extra-curricular offer.

Such opportunities include: Year 5 outdoor experience days, Year 6 residential experiences at an outdoor education centre, Year 7 Science and History residential in North Wales and Year 8 France residential just outside Paris.

Sports, Music and the Arts have a high profile in the school and children enjoy many opportunities to develop their interests and skills.
