GPW Recruitment is partnering with Ford Halewood Transmissions Ltd (FHTL) in Halewood. Ford is investing £450m into the Halewood site to produce electric power units, making it the first site to manufacture EV components in Europe.

Role Overview
As the Electrical Controls Engineer, you will be part of the core engineering team, responsible for machinery controls, building infrastructure controls, and energy supply facilities. You will manage projects from minimal budgets up to £1 million, ensuring safety, cost efficiency, and adherence to engineering standards. Collaboration with various teams is essential to support the transformation into a leader in electric vehicle powertrains.
Qualifications and Experience
* Electrical bias Engineering degree or relevant experience
* Proven project management skills from specification to delivery
* Experience in manufacturing or similar environment
* Computer literacy (Excel, Word, project management software)
* Knowledge of engineering specifications, standards, and legal requirements
* Analytical mindset for developing solutions
* Excellent communication skills
* Highly motivated and self-driven
* PLC experience (Siemens Step-7, TIA portal) is essential
* Understanding of machine hardware and controls (ABB, Fanuc, UR robotics)
* Experience with electromechanical pressing, fastening systems, vision systems, and manufacturing networks
* Support hardware discussions with OEMs
* Experience in refurbishment activities, AutoCAD electrical, Eplan, and approval of electrical drawings and PLC programs
* Ability to provide cost studies and utilize utility monitoring systems
* Knowledge of HV and LV electrical distribution, Building Management systems
* Experience in machine sign-off, acceptance audits, and compliance standards (CE, UKCA, BS, EN)
