Mortgage Advisory Lead | Build a New Advisory Practice


Caravel has been instructed to appoint a Mortgage Advisory Lead on behalf of one of our long-standing real estate advisory clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, entrepreneurial mortgage adviser with a strong network to build and grow a new advisory practice within an established and highly regarded business.



About the Company


Our client is a specialist real estate finance and capital advisory business with an established reputation advising investors, developers, landlords, housing associations and property owners across the UK.


The business has built a strong track record across real estate finance and capital advisory mandates and is now looking to expand its offering through the launch of a dedicated mortgage advisory platform. As part of this growth, they are seeking an ambitious Mortgage Advisory Lead to establish, develop and ultimately lead this new business line.



The Opportunity


This is a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial mortgage professional to join an established platform and play a leading role in building a new advisory business from the ground up.


Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for launching and growing the mortgage advisory offering, advising clients across a broad range of residential and investment property lending solutions whilst developing the systems, relationships and processes required to support long-term growth.


Over time, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to recruit and lead a team as the platform expands.



Key Responsibilities


  • Build and grow the mortgage advisory offering
  • Advise clients on residential mortgages, buy-to-let mortgages, portfolio landlord finance and remortgaging requirements
  • Develop new business opportunities through networking, relationship building and introducer management
  • Manage transactions from initial enquiry through to completion
  • Build strong relationships with lenders, solicitors, surveyors and other professional introducers
  • Establish operational processes, systems and best practice for the platform
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant FCA regulations and industry requirements
  • Work closely with colleagues across the wider business to identify referral and cross-selling opportunities
  • Contribute to the long-term growth strategy of the business
  • Recruit, mentor and lead future team members as the platform develops


Candidate Profile


We are interested in speaking with commercially minded mortgage professionals who are motivated by the opportunity to build something rather than simply inherit an existing desk.


Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:


  • CeMAP qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience advising on residential and buy-to-let mortgage products
  • Strong understanding of mortgage regulation, compliance and FCA requirements
  • Experience operating within a mortgage network or Authorised Representative framework
  • Knowledge of portfolio landlord finance and investment property lending
  • A proven ability to generate business and develop client relationships
  • Strong lender and introducer relationships
  • An entrepreneurial and commercially focused mindset
  • The ambition to build and lead a successful advisory platform over time
