Your mission We are looking for you to join our Sungrow team as our new Compliance Intern in the UK! What does a Compliance Intern do, you might ask? Well, this role is allowed to do the best part of our everyday work – to still the hunger for sustainable energy! You will play a crucial role in supporting the development and management of the internal compliance systems and conducting in-depth compliance and policy research. In a little more detail, this is what you will do in your day to day job: Conduct research on laws, regulations, and policy developments across the EU and UK, with a focus on renewable energy sectors. Monitor legislative changes affecting compliance and prepare comprehensive reports and concise summaries on regulatory trends, providing actionable recommendations to internal teams. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the compliance inquiry system, handle standard requests, distribute existing policies and documents, and escalate complex issues to the appropriate teams. Leverage AI tools and data analytics to enhance risk identification, analysis, and monitoring processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive management throughout the organization. Perform administrative tasks such as organizing and summarizing meetings, collecting feedback from various departments, and ensuring smooth communication within the team. Support the contracts function on activities in PV and ESS Business Unit in the UK and other countries in the region as required. Review, draft, qualify and negotiate various types of contractual documentation including framework agreement, sales contracts, General Terms & Conditions, purchasing agreement, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements and letters of intent. Identify risks and deviations from Sungrow´s contracting principles and where necessary obtain senior management approval. Preparation and negotiation of contractual qualifications with new and existing clients. Prepare contract and risk summaries to ensure that all relevant project personnel are aware of contractual obligations, risks and objectives. Negotiate to resolution contractual and financial disputes on live projects, consulting with and advising Commercial managers. Maintenance and adherence to all relevant policies, processes and procedures contained within Sungrow´s Business Management System. Your profile All right, all right, so I hope you are now aware of what is up for you, what background should you have in order to feel comfortable with this role? Educational Background: Degree educated in Law or relevant Business-related qualification. PV, Energy Storage, and or Construction industry experience. Commercially focused with a sound knowledge of Contract Law and the ability to draft in a legal / contractual context. Experience: Worked with / working within a Contracts or Legal department. Skills: Strong research capabilities; Excellent writing and presentation skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant research and productivity tools. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships at all levels and translate to a non-legal audience. Demonstrates credibility and professionalism at all times. Can engage, influence and negotiating at all levels with stakeholders. Characteristics: Demonstrates effectiveness in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment; Technologically adept with a strong interest in compliance and regulatory issues. Pro-active with a solutions-based approach, and the ability to constructively challenge and be challenged. Ability to demonstrate initiative and ownership, and work within a multi-disciplined team. Detail orientated with excellent analytical skills. Accustomed to report writing and presenting, Chinese language skill is an advantage Excellent planning and organising skills, accustomed to meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines. Languages: Fluency in English is required (C1) while additional languages are a plus. Why us?
