The Role
Stephens Scown LLP is looking for a motivated Paralegal to join our forward-thinking Corporate team, with a particular focus on Insolvency & Restructuring and Banking & Finance. You will be based in the Taunton office but will also work our team in other offices.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside specialists in a supportive, people-first environment that encourages growth and collaboration.
You’ll support a highly regarded team advising on a wide range of insolvency and banking matters. The team advise on both contentious and non-contentious matters for insolvency practitioners, businesses and individuals including:
* Debt restructuring and financing
* Distressed acquisitions / sales
* Insolvency litigation support
* Secured lending work
You’ll play a key part in case preparation, document management, legal research, and liaising with clients and stakeholders.
About You
* Previous Paralegal experience, particularly in corporate or commercial law (preferred but not essential)
* A genuine interest in insolvency & restructuring, banking & finance and corporate law and understanding of basic insolvency processes
* Experience in undertaking legal research and drafting documents using precedents and templates
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
* The ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
