£38k to £40k per annum DOE

Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 16:30
Friday 07:30 - 12:30
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CAD-CAM Engineer to join our clients team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, developing, and optimizing CAD models and CAM programs to support our manufacturing operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative mindset to ensure precision, efficiency, and quality in production.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain CAD drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation for parts, tools, and assemblies.
* Create, verify, and optimize CAM programs for CNC machining (milling, turning, multi-axis, etc.)
* Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to ensure manufacturability of parts.
* Conduct simulations and toolpath verifications to minimize errors and improve efficiency.•
* Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, and machining parameters.
* Troubleshoot machining issues and provide technical support to operators on the shop floor.
* Continuously improve processes to reduce cycle time, material waste, and costs.
* Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.•
* Proven experience with CAD-CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent).
* Hands-on knowledge of CNC programming and machining processes.
* Strong understanding of GD&T, materials, and tooling.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
* Experience with 5-axis machining.
* Familiarity with automation, robotics, or additive manufacturing.
* Knowledge of ERP/MES systems for production workflow.
