Overview
Teacher of Psychology - 0.8 FTE (Maternity Cover) – temporary maternity cover at Outwood Academy Valley, Worksop, North Nottinghamshire.
Outwood Academy Valley is a popular and oversubscribed school with 1500 students aged 11 to 16 and a Post 16 Centre with 500 students, shared with Outwood Academy Portland. The Post 16 Centre is a short walk from the school. The academy offers high-quality facilities and a modern learning environment to support outstanding outcomes for students.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality Psychology teaching for Key Stage 5 (A Level provision) and contribute to the continuing development of the Post 16 curriculum.
* Plan, deliver and assess challenging lessons that engage students and promote high levels of achievement.
* Collaborate with colleagues across Outwood Academy Valley and Outwood Academy Portland to support a shared Post 16 provision and to extend learning opportunities for students.
* Engage in professional development and share best practice to drive improvements in teaching and learning.
* Uphold safeguarding, wellbeing and welfare of students in line with school and statutory guidance.
Qualifications and experience
* Strong knowledge and understanding of Psychology, with essential capability at Key Stage 5 level.
* Passion for Psychology and the ability to inspire students and support their development.
* Skills and determination to make a significant difference to student outcomes and to live the Trust’s motto of putting students first.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration within the Outwood community.

Contract details
* Temporary role to cover maternity leave.
* Required from 01/12/25 to provisionally 26/06/26 or the return date of the substantive postholder if earlier.
