Job Description:
The Aspire Training Team are seeking a motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic individual as an apprentice to complete their Level 2 Childcare qualification with KingsWood Day Nursery in Alderholt.
KingsWood Day Nursery is a small, privately owned nursery that offers outstanding care to children aged between birth and 8 years. It is located on the borders of Dorset and Hampshire and has been accredited with the prestigious Outstanding rating by Ofsted.
The nursery is housed in a cosy, converted old school building, providing children with a wonderful childhood environment. It also features a Forest School, offering magical and inspirational outdoor learning opportunities to help children develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on activities in a serene setting.
This role involves outdoor activities in all weather conditions, making a love of outdoor environments essential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone aspiring to start a career in childcare, working alongside qualified professionals in a fantastic setting.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Organising and engaging children in various activities and encouraging participation.
* Participating in forest walks.
* Preparing and serving meals, and assisting children during meal times.
* Supporting nursery staff with daily duties.
* Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the nursery.
* Providing a safe and enriching environment for children.
* Keeping up to date with coursework.
Requirements:
* Ability to obtain a clear DBS check and GCSEs A*-C in English and Maths, or equivalent (functional skills are desirable but not essential).
* Own transport or flexible transport options are necessary due to shift patterns; a staff car park is available on site. Car sharing is possible for those living nearby, but reliance on others for transportation is not recommended.
Qualities required:
* Confidence, outgoing personality, and a love for the outdoors.
* Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Hours:
* Minimum of 30 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed.
