An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic locum and substantive consultant anaesthetist to join the team at Yeovil District Hospital.
The workload, by the nature of the hospital, is varied and any applicant would need to be comfortable anaesthetising for children, major colo-rectal, major orthopaedic, and obstetrics amongst others. A variety of sub-specialty interests can be accommodated but of particular interest would be a background in peri-operative medicine, human factors/simulation, day surgery, or regional anaesthesia.
Yeovil District Hospital offers the range of clinical work you would expect from a District General Hospital (DGH). As a relatively small hospital (part of a huge Trust) it is easy to develop new services and new practices based on your ideas. If you'd like to shape the way your department works, then Yeovil may be for you.
Main duties of the job

* Help to develop evidence based local treatment policies, to guide best clinical care.
* Develop clinical leadership, quality improvement and educational roles at an early stage.
* Work within the clinical governance framework.
* Maintain professional competencies and development.
