Stock Controller
Salary: £32,000 – £37,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 18:00
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Stock Controller to lead inventory operations and support production efficiency across our site. This role is key to ensuring accurate stock management, maintaining high standards of health and safety, and fostering collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Improve productivity and efficiency across the site whilst reducing costs with accurate day-to-day stock counts.
Ensure a safe working environment, reporting near misses and fostering a mindset where health and safety is a condition.
Manage and develop team members, including training and performance development.
Communicate effectively with teams and follow the chain of command.
Build strong relationships with other departments to ensure collaboration.
Oversee activities related to the company’s products and services, including placing orders, storing, organising, packing, loading, and delivery.
Meet all customer orders and secure high-quality materials for the company.
Complete all daily production plans in line with stock levels and customer orders.
Maintain stock control, mass balance, and auditing processes.
Main Duties in Detail:
Ensuring Efficient Production Processes and Product Quality:
Manage and control the goods-in/goods-out area and dry goods stores.
Ensure production processes have all required stock for daily/weekly orders.
Support the Technical Team in meeting BRCGS Standard requirements.
Manage intake and outtake of chilled and frozen stocks.
Maintain clear documentation for stock control to support purchasing and forecasting.
Audit and manage dry goods and ingredient stock levels.
Ensure traceability and accurate record-keeping of ingredients and finished products.
Conduct daily and monthly stock audits.
Identify skills gaps and deliver training plans for your team, recording outcomes.
Manage inventory, packing, and distribution.
Predict product demand and adopt new technologies to minimise risk and avoid process interruptions.
Implement effective stock rotation and reduce/eliminate waste.
Create linear production plans aligned with customer orders and review actuals vs. planned.
Develop and maintain defrost plans for customer requirements on a daily and weekly basis.
Requirements:
Proven experience in stock control or inventory management.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Proficiency in inventory systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar).
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence (if travel between sites is required).
Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively across departments.
